"Three Kids"


This is a picture of one of the works I am going to talk about. It was done in 1968 by William Cumming. From the books and articles that I have read, he seems like a pretty odd guy. He was a Communist :-(


This work really demonstrates what his art is all about: figures in motion. Shadowed backgrounds are also prominent in his work. He tends to gray colors (what he calls "sour color") because of the NW air which has been so ever apparent lately. Interesting fact, he mixes egg yolk with tempura. Hmmmm...
